The Early Head start located at the Central Office here in Holly Springs held a cheerful parent meeting recently with moms and their children.  This was also match day where the children and their parents were all dressed alike.

The presenter for the parent meeting was Daphne Lumpkin, employee at the local Fire Station, who shared Home and Safety Saving Tips.  Other training was shared by staff members Mrs. Annette Mitchell on the Effects of Covid in the Home/Families, and Ms. Brenda Snow. According to the director, Mrs. Rosie Williamson, it was a good day for all.

Our local Early Head Start program has an enrollment of 40 children. We are now in an enrollment cycle, for information, please do not hesitate to contact our center director at 66-252-1582 ext. 135.

School Readiness

The Office of Head Start states that Head Start is a school readiness program. Building upon this premise, ICS Head Start emphasizes and supports children's academic development, especially to significantly increase language development and to help preschoolers acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that predict later success in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies as they enter kindergarten.
