The ICS Project Head Start family salutes one of our own, Mrs. Franchessica Solomon, who serves as a nutrition secretary at the Institute of Community of Community Services, Inc. Mrs. Solomon was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award signed by President Joe Biden, a Gold Medal, and a Proclamation of Service from the White House. She was honored for a lifelong commitment of building a stronger nation through her volunteer services with Vista, of which she is proud to be a member.
Mrs. Solomon’s son, King James Solomon III, was recently interviewed to attend a private school, and one of the requirements was passing the START test. Earlier in the year Solomon scored 753 on the test at the Marjean Taylor-Myatt Head Start center located here in Holly Springs. Franchessica states that on this past week Solomon scored a 779, a 26-point jump in a little over a month. She claimed it was a proud Mommy Moment!!!
The executive director of ICS Head Start, Mrs. Eloise McClinton, and the staff salutes Mrs. Solomon and her son, King James Solomon on their achievements.
School Readiness
The Office of Head Start states that Head Start is a school readiness program. Building upon this premise, ICS Head Start emphasizes and supports children's academic development, especially to significantly increase language development and to help preschoolers acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that predict later success in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies as they enter kindergarten.
